Description

Main Feature

#??? • DEINONCHITAR (Deinonychus + itar)
• Rock/Dark
• Light Armour Pokémon
• Evolves from PUPITAR with CLAW FOSSIL

Read the following as if it were being read to you by Sir David Attenborough:

As opposed to its more secluded modern counterpart, Deinonchitar lived together in packs. Collectively they hunted and looked after their young.
With their lightly armoured bodies, their strong and powerful legs could propel them at speeds unseen by most during their time. Unlike Tyranitar’s preference for mountainous regions, Deinonchitar were more suited to the open plains, to make apt use of their speed and numbers.

However after the climate started to cool and food sources became scarcer, their co-operative system didn't last, due to a similar personality akin to Tyranitar, aggression.
This local feuding forced them to disband and take up more secluded lives, however due to their dwindling numbers, they were unable to rely upon others for protection. But over time, the armour covering Deinonchitar grew thicker in light of local predators and worsening weather conditions.
In spite of the evolutionary adaption to its new lifestyle, their decedents still have a fierce devotion to their young.

And we're back with another Featured update.
This one has been in the works over the past couple of weeks, I would have liked to have finished it sooner, but I was caught up making a "level" for school.

So to the new and uninformed, this little design is for ~darksilvania's contest to design a Branched evolution using one of the in game fossils.

I tried to avoid doing Tyranitar, cos I really wanted to do something more unique and interesting than this. So hopefully whatever points I lose for an obvious concept I can make up for with overall quality.
But still I did put a lot of thought into this design; seeing as how Tyranitar looks based upon a Tyrannosaurus, given its territorial and isolated personality, I thought that Pack hunting raptors would make a very nice contrast.

Art wise I tried a couple of new things, most notably with my lineart, in how for the most part, I have abandoned it. It really forced me into using tones to better outline the figure, but there is still some lineart in there, baby steps.

So enjoy. :)

EDIT: Lost. Epically. Not surprising really.
